Don't you just love a good Church fete!
I especially love when they start on a Friday, and you can get in early before the weekend rush.
Here are a few of the goodies I scored today.
2 larges rolls of yellow and blue floral wallpaper with sticky backing for $3 and 10 ceramic flower drawer knobs for $3. I plan to use the wallpaper and the knobs on a dresser I am redoing for my daughter. Such great timing as I just started preping it last night. They are perfect for the project and I'm one happy customer!
I also got 2 cute wooden trays at $1.50 for both. One is light blue and the other white with gorgeous metal inserts around the sides. I also got the cute little pale green ceramic jug for 50 cents, which I'll use as a vase for small flowers, and the old dictionary underneath was only 50 cents too.
And how could I go past this great old chair for only $5.
Not pictured, but I also got a very old large Atlas with beautiful maps which I might feature on some upcoming furniture pieces for $2, a bunch of books for the kids for $4, a little white Target garden gnome as new for $1, and a new in box large brass curtain rod set for $3.
Total spend $23.50. Not a too shabby shopping for one morning. :)
I'm not sure if I showed you this desk I got a few weeks ago, but it was really dirty and has sat outside for a while until I plucked up the courage to clean it. All I could think was why did I pay $20 for this filthy desk. But, it actually came up quite well, has good bones, and I can give it a better makeover later. In the intermin, it has made a perfect desk for my laptop and the cupboard below is perfect for storing my sewing machine that desperately needed a home. :) Some times you just have to see past the dirt.
