DIY Cloche

This has to be one of my favourite projects yet.  I am in love with my new cloche!

Here's what I started with ...

A $3 cheese platter and a 50 cent brass candle stick holder.

Some hot glue and spray paint and this is what I now have!  Super easy and such a fabulous result.  I've wanted one of these for so long. And its the perfect size.

Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to put in it. :)  What would you put in it?

Gingham Bunnies

I love to sew toys and Easter is the perfect reason to make bunnies!  My daughter's favourite! :)

This year I've made these cute red and white gingham bunnies!

I love the way the clothes turned out.

I also made the gift tags using a black and white bunny image from The Graphics Fairy.  I love how they turned out too!

Hoppity Easter Everyone!

Black Wrought Iron Wall Scones

I got these wall scones from ebay a few months ago for a bargain $5 the set!  They are huge and I have had them packed away trying to decide where to put them.

Today they found a new home on my lounge room wall and I'm really happy with how they look!  I didn't do anything to them, just added some gorgeously scented turquoise candles which make the house look beautiful and smell divine!

Remember my cosy corner, now it is even cosier!

My bare wall is slowly coming together. :)

Weekend's Thrifty Finds

I am thrilled with my thrifty finds this weekend!

I picked up the two old wooden measure sticks for $2 each. And the cheese dish for $3. Bargain.  I have been looking for one of these for ages. The cover is glass too! Most I've come across have been plastic. I can't wait to make it into a gorgeous cloche!  I even have a candle stick base all picked out. :)

I can't wait to complete this project!!!

DIY Canvas & Burlap Bird

I saw one of these cute little birds in a shop and knew I could make my own for a fraction of the price.  And I was right. :)

I grabbed myself some paper and drew out a bird and bird wing shape.  After cutting them out and making a few moderations, I laid them down on some spare canvas fabric I had and cut out my birdie.

After sewing him together, I turned him right side out and stuffed him with filling.  Then I sewed closed the body and wing openings and sewed the wings to the body.

From some scrap burlap, I cut out two more wings/feathers to attach.  I spray painted two safety pins black to attached the extra "feathers" with.

For the eyes I used black wool with knots tied in the ends and threaded through the head.

I had picked up an old bronze candle stick holders for 50 cents, which I decided to sit my birdie on.  I attached him using my hot glue gun.

Isn't he cute?! I love him. :)
