Lots of thrifty furniture finds this weekend. :)
Look at this set of 4 old multi-coloured wooden chairs. The lovely lady I purchased these from was planning on doing them up herself but didn't think she would find the time. I was tempted to pass on them. Can you see all those layers of paint!? I am definitely not a fan of paint stripping. But when she mentioned they were from the 1800's, I just couldn't refuse. Does anyone have any tips on easy paint removal please?
(Please excuse the tarps in some of the photos. We are having heavy rain at the moment so taking photos is difficult.)
The same lady had this gorgeous old chair also in need of a restoration. It appears to have been stripped back and the padding all removed and preserved in plastic bags. I love the details on the back and the wheels on the front chair legs. Me thinking this is also a keeper. ;)
Also, this beautiful long wooden hall table or desk.
And another smaller hall table or writing desk.
Both hall tables are begging for a chalk paint make over. I can't decide whether to be safe and go white, or be a bit more daring and go with a vintage green or duck egg blue. What do you think?
I love this very old little cane chair for $8. I've never seen one with such beautiful cane work. I'm saving this one for my daughter's room when she is a bit older. :)
Finally, I got this solid wood round dining table for $5. I love round tables but sadly they do not suit our house. So I'm thinking white with some sort of graphics on the top. Maybe I'll pay the Graphics Fairy a visit. :)
Plenty to keep me busy. :)
