Simple Gold and Green Christmas Dining Table Setting

Happy Christmas Day!

We hosted Christmas lunch at our house today, so last night I decided to put together a quick festive dining table.

To begin, I covered the table with a linen table cloth and laid a drop cloth table runner down the centre.

Next I used one of my small flocked trees as the centrepiece. Then added some candles in mason jars, and scattered baubles and cardboard stars.

For each placemat I found some spare green polkadot fabric and ripped it into rectangles. I left the edges frayed and just ran the iron over each of them to take out the wrinkles.

For each person I made simple place settings. I had no plain white napkins, so I had to use squares off the roll to fold cutlery envelopes. Then I tied twine around each. I threaded a cute little gold bauble and a printed name tag on the twine and tied it once again.

The printed names and reindeer pictures I put together in Pages and printed out, cut to size and hole punched for threading.

I was 3 chairs short so I substituted with some spindle back chairs I already had.

I'm really please with how it turned out and not a penny spent.

Our Rustic Green Christmas Tree

I put up our usual white tree this year which you can see here. But I also had an itch to get a traditional green tree too.

So I searched every store and finally found this beautiful mixed tip tree for half price at Spotlight.

I decided to go with a very neutral theme, with a few gold baubles thrown in to balance everything out.

I made the white paper folded circular decorations last night. Super easy.

I also made the fabric baubles a few years back. The white bells are new.

The reindeer ornaments are new. The stars I made myself with fabric and burlap. And the clear baubles filled with white tinsel I also made.

The paper ornament on the left I made a few nights ago.

The clay angel and tree ornaments I made with my son yesterday. It was a fun project for us both.

The clumps of white flowers I got for half price. I had the metal hearts from a few years ago. I also had the pine cones and pine cone flowers from a few years ago also.

The birds and glitter stars were also from my Christmas stash.

My white tree has gone to the sun room and the new green one will stay in the lounge room.

I can't decided whether to put a topper on or leave it. I think it looks cute without. What do you think?

A Little More Christmas in the Corner

Today I bought this cute little pine Christmas tree.

It's perfect in the corner next to our sofa.

Sitting inside a cute metal bucket and surrounded with drop cloth fabric.

The cute little wooden ornaments I picked up as well.

And the small gold baubles I already had.

I also put together a small Christmas vignette.

And I added a cute Christmas message to my chalkboard.

So happy with my little festive corner.

Little White Vintage Drop Front Desk 2

Remember I told you I was sending my cute vintage drop front desk to a new home?

Well, I did. Really. Promise.

But what I didn't tell you was that I did this because I found another identical vintage drop front desk that I was restyling to put in it's place. :)

The new desk I again painted white, but lined with my favourite original vintage sheet music.

And in the drawer as well.

So I didn't really part with my beautiful desk, I just replaced it with an identical one, restyled more to my taste. :)
