We hosted Christmas lunch at our house today, so last night I decided to put together a quick festive dining table.
To begin, I covered the table with a linen table cloth and laid a drop cloth table runner down the centre.
Next I used one of my small flocked trees as the centrepiece. Then added some candles in mason jars, and scattered baubles and cardboard stars.
For each placemat I found some spare green polkadot fabric and ripped it into rectangles. I left the edges frayed and just ran the iron over each of them to take out the wrinkles.
For each person I made simple place settings. I had no plain white napkins, so I had to use squares off the roll to fold cutlery envelopes. Then I tied twine around each. I threaded a cute little gold bauble and a printed name tag on the twine and tied it once again.
The printed names and reindeer pictures I put together in Pages and printed out, cut to size and hole punched for threading.
I was 3 chairs short so I substituted with some spindle back chairs I already had.
I'm really please with how it turned out and not a penny spent.
