Wooden Board Hung Curtains in the Lounge Room

I moved my living room curtains from my plantation shutter windows, to my sliding doors.

From here ...

To here ...

I planned to use the new curtains I bought from Ikea a few weeks ago in their place.

I wanted to hang them uniquely. I took down the black curtain rod I had there that was a combination of taped together rods hung on curtain hooks that were coming out of the plaster walls.  Not a great look.

I knew I wanted to try using planks of wood to hang them and after a few different attempts, I found a way to hang them that I was happy with.

First I cut my plank of wood into two pieces. Then I used white paint to dry brush them so they looked weathered and aged.

Then I measured out the spacing for my screws. I was going to use hooks again but they didn't work with the hidden tab tops. Instead, I had a packet of old bronze screws that I drilled in at an angle.

I had some black curtain hook "S" connectors that worked well to attach to the curtain backs, then hook over the screws.

I attached metal picture hangers on the back of the planks, then small flat head screws to my wall to hang them on.

Finally, I used 2 gold cup screws to attach burlap curtain tie backs.

I love our new curtains.  What do you think?
