With our new wood fire recently installed, I decided to rearrange the furniture around the fire to make it the focal point of the lounge room. This was a difficult task given the shape of the room, but I found something that works.
So the lounges were moved to frame the fire, and the TV moved to the far wall next to the fire. So this is the new view when you walk in. The little green table that was in the corner I sold.
I've always loved the look of a table behind the lounge, but until I find the perfect one, I've placed our wooden chest and some baskets. They are great for storage too.
I kept an L shape with the lounges, but the 3 seater is now in the middle of the room, and the two seater is under the window. I can now look out the windows during the day, instead of having my back to them.
This is the view looking back to my weathered wood french doors where you enter the lounge room. I don't think I shared this with you, but I have also repainted the coffee table legs white. The black just was too dark for me. And can I also say I am still loving my new Ikea jute rug. It hides the dirt, but vacuums clean really easily. And the weave gives you feet a little massage when you walk on it. :)
I moved my glass display cabinet and wooden ladder into the corner that had the TV.
And in the opposite corner I brought in this cool pianola cabinet I picked up a few months ago. It's yet to get a makeover, but I'm happy to leave it there as is for the time being. It replaces the pale green cabinet I had next to the TV previously.
So now you walk around the lounge and into the dining room.
I changed the direction of the dining table, and I've added a charging station next to the sideboard (which I will be sharing shortly).
I also changed up a few items to display on the sideboard.
We are still getting used to the new furniture set up, but it is much better for sitting in front of our warm fire.
