Blue Dining Room Cabinet

Remember my dining room cabinet? Here it was last Christmas.

I loved the white, but I wanted a change.

After browsing Pinterest for ideas, I chose this gorgeous shade of deep blue from the Dulux range called Shindig.  I applied 2 coats, followed by a coat of clear varnish.  And kept the inside white.

When I restyled the inside, I grabbed all kitchen related items, instead of a mishmash of stuff.
I decided to be really brave and add a bit more colour with the different kettles.

And of course I kept my wire inside the doors.

I also added a darker walnut stain to my Cafe de Paris artwork.

And while we are in the dining room, I found this cute little bluish grey vase yesterday that is perfect for our dining table.

And after a few days of looking at my new blue cabinet, I can say I'm very happy with it. I absolutely love the colour. It's not too bright and provides a great contrast against the white walls.

AND, I'm genuinely finding the blue additions, to my otherwise very white house, quite relaxing.

  1. Your little blast of blue really wakes up the room. Have to say your farmhouse table is perfect too.

  6. I liked the white, but it does add a nice contrast and pop of color now. The chicken wire is a great look on this!
