2016 Spring Home Tour

I can't wait to share my Spring home with you.
I've been giving my house a total farmhouse style overhaul, incorporating contrasting wood tones, together with beautiful neutral farmhouse furniture and decor.
I've been stripping paint off doors, repainting and rearranging furniture, as well as adding lots of greenery and some new decor and DIY projects.

Enjoy!

ENTRYWAY

I recently shared my drop front secretary, now a gorgeous shade of white again.

I added a little vintage table under the entry mirror, and new wall hooks for the kids school bags.

I also repainted the entryway mirror frame in a distressed wood tone effect.

DINING ROOM

I rearranged the dining table and chairs against the far wall to allow more open space. I also stripped the sliding french doors back to their natural wood grain.

My sideboard is also white again, with some added greenery. The large sideboard mirror has been replaced with large wall prints and a new clock.

I also added my DIY Farmer's Market sign on the wall above the table.

The metal tray on the table is a new addition to my decor collection and one that I absolutely love.

LOUNGE ROOM

The lounge room has undergone a lot of changes, including rearranging the lounges along the wall underneath our plantation shutters.  The cat cushion is a new addition, as is the coffee table fern and wire basket.

Our entryway peace lily plant sits atop a new side table in the lounge room, allowing it more light. The new gold cage covering it protects it from our destructive cats.
On the other side of the lounge, I also made over my side table lamp and added a new chalkboard "Gather" sign.

I stripped back my french doors to their natural wood tone and gave them a coat of clear varnish.
I love the contrast of all the different wood tones.

The thankful sign is a recent DIY project, and I've added a few new items to the top of my tv side cabinet.

My dining room display cabinet got a wood tone effect makeover, and was also relocated into the lounge room area, together with some different wall decor.
Moving the lounges opened up the space, allowing our beautiful stand alone fireplace to be a prominent feature in the room.

I hope you enjoyed my little tour.

Happy Spring!

:) Julie
