WINTER WOODLANDS CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR 2018

Hi Everyone,

 Welcome to my 2018 Christmas Home Tour!

I've created a beautiful and cosy winter woodlands theme this year.

  

In the dining room, I used lots of luscious artificial evergreen branches, garlands, and wreaths, hung on the wall and door, and to create my simple centerpiece. A sprinkle of snow created an extra wintery touch.

 

I incorporated natural wood elements into my dining room decor, such as the wall art and prints to enhance the woodland feel.

I crafted the rustic Christmas sign by utilizing an MDF insert within my original Cafe print.

Creating the rustic framed star was a straightforward do-it-yourself project that involved repurposing an old frame. I painted and gave it a distressed finish, incorporated chicken wire as an insert, and added a 3D cardboard star. The star itself was also distressed and affixed to the frame using jute twine.

 

In the living room, I fully embraced the woodlands atmosphere with my woodlands themed mantle and Christmas tree.

For my mantel, I kept my DIY windmill blades and added a burlap potted mini snowy tree and a trio of wooden trees in natural wood tones.

I added a complimentary tree to the opposite side of the mantel, with a chalkboard Christmas sign.

 

 

i also added a simple DIY garland made from jute twine and min pine cones. 

I couldn't resist adding this cute sisal squirrel to the top of our fireplace. I layered him on a bed of artificial snow, together with some mini pine cones to tie in with my garland.

I used a snowy white flocked Christmas tree, adorned with woodland-themed decorations including woodland animals, woodland animal circular placards, snowy pinecones and large white baubles. 

For my topper, I used a burlap wrapped star and sprays of snowy dark branches.

 

 

And for my tree skirt, I used a metal collar and layered some faux snow sheeting inside.  

 

Next to my tree I decked out our glass display cabinet.

 

Again, I stuck with the lush snowy greenery, natural wood tones and white distressed metals.  

I also hung our DIY dropcloth stockings, monogrammed with our names and cute deer silhouettes, and adorned with mini pine cones and green sprigs.

And at night with the fairy lights blinking, there is a very cozy ambiance.

With soft festive music in the background and some pine scented candles to enhance the sensory experience and I think I have created the perfect winter woodlands experience.
