Kitchen Tour
As you can see, my kitchen is small. Very small. But I still love it. I prefer to call it cosy and homely. :)
It's still a work in progress, but I wanted to share how much it has changed since we moved in 2 years ago.
Here is a pic of the original kitchen before we moved in. Lovely pink/apricot coloured cabinets and bench tops, trimmed with brown wooden trim and door knobs. Blah! They had to go. The splash back tiles were new and a blue grey colour that I didn't mind too much so they would stay. And of course the wooden floor was a keeper. :)
We were on a tight budget and were not sure if we wanted to totally renovate the kitchen yet, so in the interim I painted all the cupboards a glossy white, replaced all the hardware with vintage style black metal door knobs, and got the counter tops professionally recoated black. This automatically made a huge difference don't you think. :)
This week I spent giving all the cupboards a refresher coat of white paint.
This is my vintage Royal Doulton dinner set. I love the colour! I found this on ebay a while back and have had it carefully packed away. Now I just want to enjoy looking at it. :)
And I love how the white accents really pop against the green.
I love the new open cabinets. It took a week or so to stop trying to close the now non-existent doors, but now I love walking into the kitchen and seeing all my treasures on display. :)
