Dining Room Botanical Wall Gallery
Hello friends and Happy 2017!
Here in Australia we have a 6 week school holiday break from Christmas
to the end of January and I'm both sad and happy to say my kids went
back to school today. And boy do I miss them! Really! Anyway, during
this 6 week break I have been making some changes around the house, but
have had little time to blog them, so prepare yourself for an onslaught
of posts and pictures.
First, let's begin in the Dining Room. I made my Cafe de Paris sign 4
years ago and it has been one of those pieces that has stood the test of
time. In fact, it has hung on the same wall in the same spot for the
last 4 years also. The great thing about this sign is that I created MDF
inserts for each holiday that I just pop in and out when I'm doing
seasonal decorating.
This is my Dining Room last year, shortly after we planked the dining table.
Recently I decided I wanted a change over the dining table. So I did a bit of Pinterest purusing and found this idea at Delightfully Noted. Isn't it just dreamy.
Which lead me to create my own gallery. I began by Googling Botanical
Prints and printed off a few that I thought looked good together. Then I
framed them using frames I purchased from The Reject Shop for $3 each.
Next I measured up my wall space and the size of the frames and drew out
a plan of where I wanted them placed on the wall. I used a lead pencil,
ruler and liquid level to position all my frames so that they were
evenly spaced, straight, and looked pleasing to the eye. This process
took a while, but I'm very happy with the result.
And my Cafe sign found a new home over my Dining Room Sideboard, which also got a small restyle.
Here was the before ...
And coming up soon, I'm super excited to be sharing my new look French Doors and new Ikea Curtains!
:) Julie
