Refreshed Front Verandah
It's been a long time since I've shared our front verandah, mainly because I don't usually do much with it. But lately it has been looking a bit sad, so I thought I'd give it a little refresh.
Let's start with the doorway.
I purchased a new Welcome Printed Coir Door Mat from Target for only $10. It's great quality and a great contrast against the grey tiles.
Next up is my new pot plant and planter. I got both these are Bunnings.
The Tuscan Path 35 x 70cm Poly Rattan Jet Black Vase planter was $39 and the plant was $18.
I really wanted a tall planter and a dense shrub type of plant.
The plant I chose is a Ginger Cardamon and it smells divine. And if you rub the leaves it smells even better!
Okay, I'm in love with this plant.
Next, I decided to move my Ikea Borrby hanging lanterns from the dining room outside on either side of the entryway to add a bit of balance.
The lanterns were white, but to add some contrast I grabbed my Rustoleum Hammered Pewter spray paint and gave them a few coats.
I love how they turned out.
Here is the front of our house. Since I last posted a photo of it, I've painted the columns from black to white. I love how it brights the verandah up.
I'm very happy with my thrifty makeover. For less than $80 I managed to make this space bright and welcoming.
:) Julie
